Architectural Associate - El Paso, TX - Full Time

Architectural Staff Level I with 3-5 years Related Work Experience

The Associate is fully competent in all conventional aspects of architecture and undertakes a variety of assignments. Independently and/or collaboratively performs assignments requiring skills in all conventional aspects of architectural design for projects of small to medium size and complexity. Works as part of a digital design/BIM team to create a graphical representation of projects with consistent results. Typically reports to a manager and receives direction from senior staff. Typically works with the project designer or manager to create a graphical representation of a new project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for small to medium size architectural projects, as well as smaller parts of large, complex architectural projects. Performs analyses of design, planning and occupancy studies, and limited design layouts. Prepares project specifications, compiling and analyzing relevant data. Writes reports and specifications. Reviews completed reports, plans, estimates, and calculations. Evaluates, and implements architectural tasks and duties to complete projects. Requires the use of more advanced techniques. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Works preparing architectural plans using digital design and REVIT, supporting daily model management, administration, and maintenance with consistent results. Provides support for project kick-off information and the creation of initial project setup.

Supports and contributes to the creation of content and supports the integration of digital design technology products with other applications. Performs design computations, compiles data, and completes elementary architectural assignments. Should have a solid understanding of math and science, as well as some basic understanding of technical specialty. Selects, evaluates, and implements architectural procedures and techniques to use to complete projects. Prepares reports and specifications as requested. Contributes to the development and implementation of design technology systems.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in architecture or equivalent education or work experience. Must have good communication/language skills along with an eye for detail. Understands how a building is constructed, including types of materials and why things are done in a certain order. Knowledge of typical office, digital design and REVIT software required. Knowledge of additional graphic or 3D rendering software preferred. Highly collaborative by nature, with the willingness to approach every project with creativity. Proactive work ethic. Willingness to take a leadership role on projects
